After Obama won the election two nights ago, I decided to start a blog where I’d post letters addressed to him. I wrote my first letter (which I like okay). I was not the first one with this idea – dearobama.blogspot.com and many other related urls were already taken. So mine is amaboraed.blogspot.com, which is “dear obama” backwards. I think I’ll make it a weekly blog so that I don’t run out of things to talk about. Hopefully readers will come soon, and maybe eventually they’ll even write letters that I can post to my blog, too.

How I did it: It was pouring rain outside, so I made my boyfriend get out of the car with me and kiss. He did, despite being sick at the time. It felt good, although we both were soaked through. It was summer rain, but it was freezing cold! Read how I did it…
There’s a coffee shop called Ambrosia Cafe near me that’s okay. I like it because a craft circle meets there every Sunday (although I’ve only joined them twice) and they helped GEO, the graduate employees’ organization, during their strike last year. I dislike that the most comfortable places to sit are in the basement without any natural light, and that the music is hit or miss. I think it’s too hip for me.
Also, I think it’s important to note that I don’t actually drink coffee. I like tea. So I guess my ideal coffeehouse serves great tea.
Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, the Balkans, Greece, Turkey, Syria(?), Lebanon (?), Jordan, Israel, Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Algeria, and end in Morocco. See the sights, but spend some time in each nation hanging out with the locals and meeting fellow travelers. If I learn to belly dance, I’d like to learn local traditions and earn money to pay my way performing. I know that’s very romantic and highly unlikely. Hopefully I would have different friends traveling with me during each segment of the trip. I would like to do this right after college. 6 months? A year? I don’t know how long I can spend away from home.
