Ok…last night we fired up the grill and made hamburgers, along with grilled packets of potatoes (chop up small red potatoes, sprinkle with olive oil, salt, pepper, and seasonings, and wrap up in aluminum foil to place among the coals), and fresh green beans with garlic. Mmmmm, garlic.
Definition of a “real meal”: at least 10 minutes of prep, two dirty bowls, and a decent veggie portion. Can I include homemade ice cream in that definition?

I went to a back seminar where the instructor said that sitting at a computer all day is one of the harder things we do to our backs. The instructor suggested this as you sit in front of a computer:
Imagine a string running from the top of your head to the ceiling pulling you upright with your shoulders back and relaxed. Now try to sit this way for 2 minutes. It may feel awkward at first, since you have to retrain your back that this is correct, but once it feels good for a short amount of time, start to lengthen the time you sit this way. When you don’t have the strength to sit straight, use a lumbar pillow to support your back.
And of course…get up and walk around! I downloaded a free program at www.workrave.com to set a timer on my computer to remind me to stretch. My own goal is to get better about taking microbreaks to stretch my own body…
