I missed yesterday. Realized when I was in bed last night. I was very frustrated by this.
The other thing I’ve come to realize is that everything recommends journaling. I’ve read two or three books recently, religious, inspiring and creative writing books that all reccomend journaling. Fascinating huh?
I still struggle that my morning pages sound like Dear Diary moments.
Yesterday I walked 4 miles. Doesnt make up for not walking enough the week before. I had a walking opportunity after class on Wednesday and didnt take it.
Today I walked at least a mile through downtown Bainbridge, though I’m not sure what the actual mileage is. Here is to a better week!
So we’re nearly two weeks in and I’ve written something every day. Reading over what morning pages are supposed to be I realize I am supposed to be writing 3 pages a day. So far, I’m not there. I’m writing something each day, sometimes a page, sometimes a half page. I think once we hit September I’ll try writing by computer and see if i can get to three pages.
I also feel like my writing in my morning pages turn more into a dear diary moment then anything else but I’m pushing on.
I’m using Live Mocha and have made it through the first lesson. I do need to run through the writing lesson and the talking lesson though, as i skilled them.
This past week, I’ve walked a mile 3 of the 7 days. It was a coincidence that I ended up walking not planned. I need to work on it for next week.
This is finals week and i’m feeling so ready to be done and have a break. Yet this week focus on my school work will have to be stronger then ever.
My interim goal is to do my morning pages every morning for the month of August.
Debbie Macomber “Morning Comes Softly”
No I’m not really proud of it, but I read it.
In May I quit my job and have been able to focus on school for summer quarter and doing childcare for my boyfriend’s daughter.
The big part of this is having the time to focus on school work as I finish at community college and then move to my Jr year at the University of Washington.
One hurdle I did cross was figuring out another workspace beyond going to a local coffee shop, and that is the local library. If I’m there I can get comfortable and focus on work for a bit, without getting over distracted by everything at home.
I’ve decided to start recording what I’m reading to see if I can quantify this goal.
Recently I’ve read :
Realityland
Flirting with monasticism : finding God on ancient paths /
I’ve done some travel in the past year, and have decided that this goal is just to vague
At this point I’ve got a total of 3 laptops. I still want to have a desktop for home though, and have decided that I want one of the ASUS EEE desktops. I’m just waiting until it comes out.
With postage going up I’m going to need to buy more stamps. In the meantime I’m going to make an effor to use up what stamps I have by sending more letters :-)
I’m going send one snail mail lette twice a month, on the 1st and the 15th.
I just dropped German 103. The grammar was killing me! I’m trying to read Harry Potter though, and am still looking to improve my overall language skills before I pick up my next language.
I love Craigslist. I got a new bike for my birthday, just in time for bike to work Month! I’ve already ridden down to work once and now need to develop a regular routine.
It’s really a lot of fun.
