I move on Monday 5/19. I am packing little things but will come back for my furniture and extras later in the year. The main goal is to be up there and put into jobs just to get some income flowing. After that it will be time to look for a job with benefits so I can afford rent. I am going to miss being home but I have to break outta here and make something of myself or as I like to say start living again!

How I did it: I planned a couple of months out before dashing off to New York. I spoke to as many people as possible with their take on living in New York. I did my best to assess the job and college environment because those would be my major focuses up there for income and affiliation. After getting encouragement, my family's blessing and the train ticket, my destiny was set. I saved my earnings for 5 months, pre-sent two boxes ahead of me and … Read how I did it…
How I did it: I saved up money from my job. Asked to live with someone. Moved when the weather permitted me to do so. I love my new city and am looking to be fully independent by year's end. Read how I did it…
I am wanting to move to NYC. I have been going there for the past 30 years and it holds a lot for me career wise and passion wise. Does anyone have tips on how to prep to move to NYC? I have to make a time table, hoard lots of cash and get rid of stuff. Anyone already doing that and can offer advice?
*I have a place to live up there already I just need the job and the money to make it.
I am sitting at a new desk at work and I find this book someone left. I figured it was the perfect opportunity to slip a note in the pages. I wanted to make it seem like it was some steamy letter but instead I put in that note that would cause them to pause. This is what I put:
“No matter what, do what you want to do in this life! Take that trip. Learn that language. Practice that instrument and please write that book! Live with no regrets because you are only here once.”
It is mild but why not? The idea is to catch their attention and what better way to catch a person on than a thought about what their dreams are? Always encourage. Never put down.
