How I did it: Has your life become unmanageable? I know mine seemed to always get that way. Addiction is a cunning enemy. This is my second time I've been in recovery. With a few months clean I thought I was cured and went back to the same old people, places, and things, and started doing all the same stupid shit. Addiction is the only disease that tries to convince you that you don't have it. After staying in my addiction for 2 more years, I finall… Read how I did it…
As of today I’ve been clean for 45 days. I owe it all to my higher power, my family, and the people of Narcotics Anonymous! I’ve never been more happy in my life. Almost everything I’d lost has been returned to me even bigger and better. Life is good.
*Edit – I’m sad to say that around a month after I wrote this original post I quit going to N.A. meetings and returned to the misery of drugs. Addiction is a cunning enemy. With a few months clean I thought I was cured and went back to the same old people, places, and things, and started doing all the same stupid stuff. I stayed in my addiction for 2 more years until finally the pain became great enough that I cried out for help. On February 16, 2009 I checked in to a 28 day inpatient drug treatment center. With there help I was able to learn about the disease of addiction and learn some tools to fight it. They also helped me reestablish my relationship with the God of my understanding, and return to the fellowship of Narcotics Anonymous. I’m proud to say I have been clean and serene ever since. I’m approaching 10 months with out the use of any mood altering substance including alcohol. Alcohol is a drug. My life is now truly better than it has ever been. If anyone reading this wants to stop using I hope this gives you hope that it is possible to stop using and find a new way to live. If a throwed off person like myself can do it than you can do it too. If quitting drugs is something you want to do please feel free to send me an email at SeldenBlack@gmail.com and I will gladly help you find the path to peace.
