Tonight, I am relieved and grateful, oh, so very grateful, that 43T is back up! I went away for a few days and came back to see a few entries/comments about problems with the site and then I couldn’t connect at all and I was, oh, so very worried! I hope that it will settle down now but just in case, I am going to ask my special friends out here to send me a quick message with their email address or facebook link just in case the end really is near! And then I am going to go through and try to save all of my best entries from the past 7 years because I have done some of the best writing of my life out here and I would hate to lose it all! But I am not panicked. Really. I am just very, very grateful for 43Things!

How I did it: I spent a lot of time on the treadmill and working out with a trainer. I've always been a walker but to do 4 mph at this stage in my life took some work. I did a couple of practice routes and a full 10k on the treadmill twice before race day. I ate a good, carb-full breakfast after a good night's sleep. And I knew in my heart of hearts that I could do this. Read how I did it…
How I did it: I used Weight Watchers, working out, setting reasonable goals. Menu planning. Lots of fruits and vegetables. Regular meal times. Sweat. Patience. My husband and I worked it together and we are still working it together. We allow ourselves to have treats, just not every day, not even every week. We support each other and we encourage each other. It's about understanding that this is going to take a long time and being oka… Read how I did it…
How I did it: After being unable to even attempt this hike for at least two years because I was in such bad shape, I came back from Maine last year, determined to improve my fitness to the point where I could make it over this hill that calls itself a mountain! I worked out 5 or 6 days a week for about 6 months, including at least 2 or 3 45 minute treadmill sessions with varying inclines up to 15%. I lost almost 50 lbs. And then on the first sunn… Read how I did it…

I am a Canadian Club and Ginger Ale kind of woman! It has been my highball of choice since my twenties. And this weekend, I found out that one of my friends also shares the pleasures of CC & Ginger!
- I spent time helping my mother-in-law pack up kitchen stuff and get it put away in her new house. It mattered because she is really stressed out about the move and we have a very easy relationship that made today very low-key and productive.
- I swam 26 laps doing a mix of breaststoke and freestyle. It mattered because I want to keep my cardio challenging and not get bored and be ause it felt amazing!
-I got up at my regular time even though I am on vacation and finished the last of the pillage and plunder clean up. It mattered because a really tidy home makes me feel very relaxed!
