The trumpet quartet I play in has a good sized book of arrangements. Of those, I have arranged about half of the charts. I want to get at least four new gospel trumpet quartets and a Civil War arrangement done by this summer.
Setting the goal and making it public will give me some push to get it done. Now let’s see what happens.
If I can find someone who wants the music, I work faster and better in getting it out. I guess I thrive on pressure in order to get the creative juices going.

It’s tough enough just to get the brain to think of new ideas and put them to paper. Once the process of composition/arranging is done, it’s even tougher to get the music on the market. It has caused me to think about publishing my own music (other “Thing”)
Having composed several pieces and had them performed by several concert bands around the country, I really have a strong desire to keep composiing and sell new composition. Anyone looking for good high school or college level band music? Let me know.

I have worked in arranging music for years but still can’t seem to find a real outlet for its sale. It seems that it is more who you know when it comes to getting anything out to the public. I want to publish my own music if no one else will do it.
It is good stuff and my own groups play the arrangements. Others have even said they “love the sound” of the arrangements. Unfortunately, they aren’t the ones in charge of buying. Oh well, hopefully I’ll have the opportunity to get my own music out to the public.
Anyone who knows “someone,” would be a great help here.
