learn Korean
Heartbroken

Well…

I am a student and I just transferred to UConn because they offer korean there. Now after talking to the director of the languages department they said that because of no demand they have decided to stop offering the korean language permanently. I am really upset. I feel so cheated. I have tried everything to get them to change their minds but they said they have budget constraints and there are more “important” languages to worry about.

It seems like my dream will be put on hold. I don’t know what I am going to do but I am probably going to have to take spanish or some other language so I can graduate. I need four semesters of a language and I haven’t taken one because I was hoping to take korean here at UConn. The korean courses are still listed in their course catalog and I specifically asked if they had the language before I transferred. In my transfer letter I even wrote the reason I chose UConn was because they had the language. Life really sucks sometimes. Why didn’t they tell me they weren’t going to offer it anymore before I transferred?
