I remember how in highschool we were encouraged to read Gabriel García Márquez’s Nobel Award speech. This was the first time I came upon them. The second time would be my brother suggesting me to read Hemingway’s upon my decision of studying an MA in Creative Writing.
After this two approaches, I’ve always been curious. So I’m taking it seriously now. I will read the Literature ones, in backwards order, starting in 2009 all the way to 1901. When the 2010 is announce, will add it to my list.
The first one for this goal was Herta Müller, 2009, and I’ve found her description of the uses and importance the handkerchief to be utterly inspiring.
