not hate my job
Colleagues 2 years ago

It’s amazing what you can put up with in a job when you have a positive relationship with the people around you—and how even the best of jobs can be bad when you don’t. I loved my current job when I first started, but since then a lot of the people who made it worth coming to work have left, and the new ones who have come in make me want to stand on my desk and yell obscentities (or worse). With the position shuffling my job itself has gone downhill too, when I started my work had direction and purpose, but now I’m just someone to do the dirty work and blame when things go wrong. I’ve got another posibility on the horizon, but it’s taking a while to come through.

stop biting my nails
Untitled 2 years ago

I bit my nails from a young child until I was 21. Stopped for a short while when I was 17, but fell back into it when my parents separated not long after. Eventually managed it as deal with my (now) husband. He had to give up smoking and I had to quit chewing my nails. We both think we got the raw end of the deal. I still have to carry a file with me everywhere though, as I’m only tempted to bite them if they’re split or ragged.

Get a tattoo

It’s hard to be married to a man obsessed with tattoos and not have any. I’m planning to get a design I found, of all places, in a Dungeons and Dragons book. It’s a small, swirling, rune-like symbol representing travel and movement. I’m going to get it done at the same time as my husband has his next one, he’s planning a wizard’s tower along his spine to go with the dragon he already has on one shoulderblade.
