I’ve painted the cupboard door – it’s not too bad, although there are a couple of bits that I’ll touch up. It’s currently waiting to be completely dry before I put the hinges and handles back on. I’ve also painted one side of the bedroom door and am going to leave that overnight before I turn it over to do the other side. And I’ve finished off the filling of the door frames.
The list:
- Seal walls
- Fill gaps in coving
- Paint ceiling (3 coats)
- Paint walls (2 white & 2 colour coats)
- Paint coving (3 coats)
- Paint skirting (undercoat & 2 coats)
- Touch up around coving and skirting
- Decorator’s Caulk around skirting and coving
- Clean and paint raidator pipes
- Fit curtain pole
- Fit radiator
- Measure up and buy door
- Paint door
- Fit door
- Fit door handle and latch
- Make good doorframe holes from where door was turned round
- Paint door frame
- Buy light fitting
- Fit light
- Buy carpet (and get someone else to fit it)

I’ve done the last bit of the coving and skirting. I’ve started painting the boiler cupboard door, which isn’t part of the bedroom project, but I want to do it while I have a room with no carpet down, and I want to practise on a less ‘important’ door before I paint the bedroom door. This one won’t be used very often and has one side that will very rarely be seen – I’ve started there.

I need to add another entry to the list:
Touch up the bits where I coloured outside the lines.
