Been doing fantastic!! 1 week ago

I’m down 8 and a half pounds and it’s only been 4-5 weeks since I started up weight watchers! I weigh in again tomorrow, but I just feel better. And I know this time, I’m doing it for real. I’ve not been cheating or looking for ways to get more out of the diet, cause I realized the only person I was cheating was myself.

Instead I’ve been constantly looking for more ways to follow the diet more closely. I’ve been working out tons! Up to 5 days a week now! It’s been going really great. :)

Book #1: Makeup makeovers: weddings by Robert Jones 1 week ago

This book became a huge priority and bumped down the Mezzanine because I had a wedding that I was doing this weekend. And while I learned some from it, it was definitely a nice refresher course and helped reinforce a lot of other stuff for me. Definitely got me pumped to do the wedding make-up.

I’m a big fan of reading all the make-up books that I can just cause they all teach me something or at the very least inspire me.

If you are getting married than this is definitely a great book to read to get you excited about your own make-up (and your bridal parties) and teach you a lot about creating beautiful (and appropriate) bridal looks. I would also recommend starting early! The more you practice your look the more beautiful you’ll look the day of!

Don't want to wait till January... 1 week ago

Loads of people seem interested in hiring me… they just don’t have work right now. One company had me calling back yesterday only to post pone possible jobs another week (they still haven’t solidified the deal). Another company is having me call back on the 23rd, but neither know for sure if I’ll be able to find work through them. Also, a lot of people seem to be promising January, which I definitely don’t want to wait around for.

I’ve decided to get a part time job to help pay the bills till a real job gets through. I’ve spent the day working on a new resume aimed at jobs for make-up stores. Least I’ll still be working in the field I’d like (make-up) even if it’s the very very basics of a starting position. Plus, I’ll learn loads and be able to help people.

With a job like this, if I find small jobs ventilating, I’ll probably be able to work the two around each other so that I can still keep the part time job till I can ventilate and do make-up full time.

I must admit that I should feel more discouraged than I am over this. I know I’m going to make it, because I want this. If it means spending another 6 months pumping up my portfolio, than that’s what it means. I’ll get there. :)
