It’s starting. I’ve got one good callus starting. The rest are still tender. I’ve learned a few notes on the high e, b and g strings, and can play “the first string polka” fairly well. I’m moving on to a “jig” for the second two strings, and practicing my plucking (have to remember to use the proper fingers!). I’m not discouraged yet, and I’m seeing some (if only a little) progress.

I’ve been on a health kick lately. I want to feel better and look better, and I’m pretty sure that I’ve been dehydrated recently. Drinking enough water throughout the day should help.
I checked the box when I applied for my state ID card years ago. It was easy, and the decision was too. What good do my organs do me after I am dead? I certainly won’t need them anymore, and what better way to live on after my time is done?
I had considered changing my status. I had a paranoid fear that I may not be ‘all the way dead’ and they start taking things out. I’ve realized how silly that was. There are all sorts of checks and such in place for those situations. I say go for it! Donate!
