Slept a lot better last night. Maybe things are getting better. Fortunately this meant that DH got a good night’s sleep too.
Still some things Bt/fwd on my list – but best to pace myself as I heal properly. Everything is such a big effort to achieve right now, and my right leg is impossible to get comfortable.
- Home accounts. I transferred some money over yesterday and paid the CC bills – but I still need to do the reconciliations, and update the spend. At least the CC people will not be charging interest and the bank account is not overdrawn even if I have no idea how things stand yet.
- Attempt to have a shower and wash my hair – not sure how I can do this yet, and whether upstairs shower or downstairs shower will be the easiest, but I will certainly feel a lot better if I can manage it. Worst case scenario is that I have becomed very skilled at sliding about on my bum, so I can sit on the shower floor, as long as DH can get me upright afterwards :)
- rest and recoup after all the above exertion.

I seem to be slipping into a routine…
- Take painkillers, wait for them to work while have cup of tea in bed, then hop to bathroom to get washed, dressed and presentable.
- Hop across landing to my office (which has added obstacle of two steps down) taking care not to slip downstairs en route
- Have breakfast at my desk (courtesy of DH)
- Spend the morning surfing and Getting Things Done, with as few bathroom trips as I can manage due to the aforementioned two steps.
- Have lunch at my desk (courtesy of DH)
- Hop back to bedroom and have some resty time on the bed snoozing and reading until workforce go home at 5pm
- get downstairs (assisted by DH and the HP brothers) by using the sliding down on bum method.
- Hop to sitting room and sit, watch TV, have dinner (thanks to DH again), and again minimising bathroom breaks due to tricky step between sitting room and hall
- About 10ish start the process of getting back upstairs to bed (which takes some time)
So I only have he GTD window in the mornings of a few hours to progess stuff.
- Bt/fwd – Call builder
- Change hosp appt, of all the days for my follow up it happens to be the one day DH has a meeting. Grrrr.

Ok…there is nothing wrong with my brain. (repeats several times)
- Catch up on last weeks emails
- Ring surgery re District Nurse appt
- Ring builder and find out why just because I was not here to pester nothing has moved on since last week
- Ring dog trainer and cancel class, but arrange one to one classes at home that I can watch
- Try and get downstairs later
- order footstool
- exercises so right leg will be strong enough to take weight once it’s allowed to.
- Afterlunch resty time
- Let folks know I’m home before they turn at hospital to an empty bed
- Try not to do too much on first day back
Going to have a quick look round now to see what I’ve missed :) then back to bed for a while.
