I’ve resurrected my old fountain pens from college – all are cheap things, but after cleaning out the dried ink from the nibs they work as well I ever needed them to.

Its funny, the feel of them is so different from ball points and bics. Maybe I’m just remembering university but I find myself caring more about my penmanship, what I’m writing about and how it is presented.

Well, I am now part of the company pension plan. Taking the hit on your salary now for the future has made me start to wonder about some of the things that I spend my money on now – I guess there is a difference between treating yourself to something and just buying things for the sake of it.

Well, I’ve settled into a routine that I’m happy with now and I think I’ve accomplished this thing now. I’m taking the train to work, usually the journey takes 35mins which is perfect in the morning and evening to plough through my rather extensive ‘To Read’ pile of books on my kitchen table. The funny thing is, I find it notably more relaxing than listening to the iPod, playing on a DS or even reading a newspaper.
