Finally. FINALLY.
One school down. Thankfully, my mother paid for my other schools out of her own pocket, and doesn’t want me to pay her back. I feel guilty, yes, but she wasn’t around and so I’m taking it as late child support. ;)

Working at a nursery, I get an employee discount on plants. I now have a nice little garden on my apartment balcony. Sure, it’s not in the GROUND, but it counts. I’ve been using some of the herbs I’ve been growing in recipes, and it tastes so fantastic. It’s definitely worth it. Relaxing.
Of course, I consider this an ongoing thing, but I’ve made at least ten new friends in my two days of college so far. It’s nice to have people to spend time with after class.
I work at a nursery. The kind with flowers. It’s huge, and totally awesome, and I love it, even though my knees always hurt because I stand for 8 1/2 hours a day.
I’ve been reading like mad for the past…Well, ever, really. But I can definitely say that I’ve accomplished this goal. My book collection has increased to over 200, which isn’t really THAT many, but I don’t have room for them in my apartment. Heh.
I got my dragonfly tattoo last year. It’s on my inner right wrist, and I love it. There are at least four more that I want, I think. I really should write it down or something.
I LOVE my internship. I got really lucky with mine, in that it’s something I love, with awesome people, and I have fun.
One of my friends from class just had to quit her internship, and gave the dude my number. Our teacher gave me HIS number so that I could call him first, which I’m going to do in about ten hours. Woo! Cross your fingers for me, y’all, cause it’s a good internship. It’d be better if it was a paid one, but alas, it’s not.
I had a whole podcast planned with one of my hilarious gay male friends – we’d talk about celebrity gossip and our random funny life stories, and it would be called “Cigarettes and Booze”, since those are two of our favorite things. Sadly, he doesn’t actually want to do it. So I’ve recruited a good female friend, who is also quite hilarious, to do this with. Hopefully it’ll be a bi-weekly thing. Lots of fun.
Finished “Stoned, Naked, and Looking In My Neighbor’s Window” in like, two days. It’s not a hard read at all. Now I’m reading “Blink”, by Malcolm Gladwell, which is a pretty amazing book, all about making split-second decisions.
But I no longer get nervous before playing a show. I can sing in front of people. I can play guitar in front of people. I sang Disney songs and songs from “The Phantom of the Opera” on the roof of a friend’s apartment, with no worries about what they thought.
After watching lots and lots of Sonic Youth and Ryan Adams videos, I have since become a better stage performer. I still have some work to do, but I’ve come a long way. I fell over one night! Which is always awesome. I smile, and laugh, and have a good time. I need to work on making more noise and feedback, which will come in time.
I realized that I accomplished this when I looked at him and thought “What an awesome friend”, rather than “I want to make out with him”. It also helps that he’s dating someone now. Makes him less attainable.
Finished “My Horizontal Life”, and “Wicked”. Am now reading “Stoned, Naked, and Looking In My Neighbor’s Window”, which I should be done with in a couple of days. I’m rockin’ this goal hardcore.
It’s not like, sparkling clean, but it’s a significant improvement and clean enough for my mother to say it’s clean, which means…Yo, it’s clean. Heh. Rock on!
I think I can say that I’ve accomplished this goal when I’ve gone, like…A month or two while reading one book a week. Then at least one can assume that I will continue doing that. I’ve gone about two weeks: Read “See Jane Date” last week, and am almost done with “My Horizontal Life”, which I started on Thursday.
It was hard to come up with 43 things, but it’s most definitely worth it. Print out the list and read it whenever you’re feeling down.
