My grand total for debt (as of this moment anyways) is only about 3 G, but I have been in debt my whole life and it would be nice to be debt free for awhile.

Haha… I’m not going to lie. I hate working! I just want to be retired. Ever seen that movie Office Space? I want what Peter wants. To be able to do nothing if I feel like it. I think I would make better use of my time then that, but if I felt like doing nothing for a day or two or 15, I’d like to be able to do that.

I think my biggest motivation to achieve this goal, even though right now I am single and even though I don’t have kids, I’d like to be able to watch my kids grow. I see too many couples struggling over money and miss out on so many of their kids activities because of working too much and too tired so I think that would be amazing to not miss a moment.

I have a million other reasons why I’d like to be retired before I’m 40 (I’d like to be retired now if I could) but that’s a good reason to shoot for this goal.

I lived on the West Coast of Canada all my life and the housing costs there are pretty much ridiculous. About a month ago, I packed up my car, anything I couldn’t fit I sold and headed out East. I now live in Southern Ontario and houses are actually affordable! I’m excited I may be able to buy my first home in 2010! Woo!
