I went out yesterday with my husband and a friend to plink around in the desert. Fired a Ruger 22 rifle, Baby Eagle, Bear Cat, and my favorite, the Astra Cub (a little 22 short pistol). The Astra is inaccurate as hell, and jams every 3 rounds, but it’s so fun you barely notice. Ken was not happy when he gave it a try and fired 3 rounds in a perfect grouping, and the fourth round destroyed his target stand. It’s a good thing the hearing protection muffled my laughter.
On the plus side, I was getting pretty good with the Ruger rifle. Okay, so I cheated and used the scope…but still. From about 40 feet, my groupings were all within an inch of one another.
Hopefully the next time we go out, I can put a few magazines through the Baby Eagle, and maybe even work with the Sig. I’ve gotta get comfortable with the damn things eventually.
