I turned 30 last year and things started to change inside of me. My attitude towards life and people has been morphing drastically. I’ve started taking lots of photographs and I’m really enjoying it!! I picked up my guitar again for the first time in years and I’m writing music..I’m looking to start gigging weekly in a local bar doing covers: lots of Concrete Blonde, Black Crowes, Big Wreck..if it kicks some ass, I’m all about it!
Fierce..I’m learning..isn’t something that comes from the kinds of things that you choose to do…it’s an attitude that emanates from within you FIRST that spurns you on to do the things you really want to.
I can’t tell you how I arrived here..but I can say that I thought ALOT about the things I wanted to do..and I made myself do those things, even when I was worried my husband would think I was silly or weird. Fierce is about taking the chance to become who you are and being true to yourself. Yeah, you’re probably going to ruffle somebody’s feathers..but that’s just because your confidence in yourself to do your thing makes them feel self-conscious. In my opinion, if you’re not pissing somebody off..you’re not quite fierce yet!!
Being fierce made me realize my love for photography and my desire to open a fine art portrait studio (where people can get neat ‘artistic’ portraits instead of the boring Walmart photo ones that nobody likes, but everybody has..)..and to continue to develop my musical talents.
I’m not in full fierce mode yet..can’t wait to be…and when I get there, I’m gonna live fierce until I die.
God Bless..xo

I cordoned off the back corner of my yard..coincidentally the one with the most sunlight, and began digging in compost, lime and peat moss. I was 8 months preggo at the time, so it were no easy task..lol
Long story short: campanulas wouldn’t even start from seed, grew a beautiful catmint that was DEVOURED by the neighborhood Tom, grew a lovely lavender from seed that is still thriving and lovely smelling, grew some cosmos, asters and cockscomb that went absolutely crazy happy in my garden, killed the false flax, my ajuga weed went berserko and is STILL spreading, lambs ears look happy, predicting the death of the heuchera this winter but the columbines are flourishing…oh yeah..and my climbing Don Juan rosebush looks great!! Also expecting some pretty foxgloves next year by the look of the rosettes…
Ya gotta take the good with the bad when gardening…and I’m listing this as a successful year!!
