Get more sleep
Farewell Insomnia 2 years ago

I am finally getting enough sleep. After a long break from the internet, my stress is pretty much non existent. My migraines are also gone. Insomnia has vanished entirely. I feel so much better now.

buy a bicycle
Going the Distance 3 years ago

A friend and I bought some bikes a few weeks ago so that we could seriously start cycling daily. They are cross country mountain bikes with a suspension system on the seat. Meant for rough terrain. Why would we choose that specific bike when we live nowhere near a mountain? Well… Kemp potholes, that’s why. If there is such a thing as rough terrain it’s our city roads.

Word of advice. Always ALWAYS buy a gel seat. The first day we rode over 4 miles on the factory seat. Not wise. We rushed right up to wally world after getting back and purchased gel seats.

By the way.. you might notice the bikes have been pimped a bit already. We’d just finished installing headlights, tail lights and speedometers on them after adjusting the handlebars. brake levers and seats to our liking. Please note… the groovy ‘kiddie basket’ that’s meant to carry our cameras and water bottles.

The bikes are much sweeter in living color. Mine is a pale pink and hers.. a pale purple. About as girlie as you get.

make a film
Making a movie 3 years ago

I have some talented friends. Gifted in acting, music, special effects and many other aspects of movie making so we felt why not take those skills and make our own independent movie? Would be fun times. I’ve already written the screenplay. I have even scouted locations and cast certain roles. I don’t think the cinematography will be too difficult. I have many friends who are talented photographers and I make a half ass decent go of it myself.

Drink eight glasses of water each day
Untitled 3 years ago

I want to drank more water… but not tap water. The water in my town is poison. 8 Glasses of water out of this tap is liable to ensure my untimely death.

learn sign language
Why I learned sign language 3 years ago

One of my best friend’s mothers was deaf and she didn’t read lips. I always felt bad about not being able to talk to her so I asked her son (my friend) to teach me. He told me to learn from a book.. but later when he saw me trying to learn from a book he yelled at me and said “Don’t learn from a book! I’ll teach you!” Eh.. okay?

He did teach me though and that knowledge has come in very handy over the years. Not just to communicate with his mother, but with random people I meet from time to time. The moment I was most thankful for learning sign language was when I first met my husband’s step family. His step-sister and her husband are deaf and use sign language. I was so very glad I already knew how to communicate with them. I think everyone that is able to should try to learn sign language, even if you don’t see a use for it. You never know who you might meet down the road.

Photograph Waxahachie, Texas.
Procrastinating about photographing 3 years ago

I keep delaying going to Waxahachie to photograph the Urban Decay there. I’ve wanted to do so since I first photographed Corsicana (nearby city). My lack of doing so yet no doubt goes back to my “procrastination” problem. One of these days I’ll actually drive over there and take a series of photos.

stop procrastinating
Still Procrastinating 3 years ago

I have been procrastinating about ceasing procrastination obviously. I’ve had this goal set for seven months. Surely it will be here 7 months from now as well… which means all my others goals are liable to remain unfulfilled too. Such is the life of a procrastinator.
