Getting on for 3 stone lost (that 42 pounds to those over the pond). It’s been really easy, eat a bit less, watch what I am eating (hello lean ham and tuna!) and of course give up drinking. Ok, so the giving up drinking part was bloody difficult, but the weight loss was been a pleasant addition. Moved belt in about 5 notches!

I actually failed to notice I hadn’t had a drink for a month! Family funeral today, Great Uncle Doug. He reached a good age, so it wasn’t that dramatic. The wake was in a local pub. Seeing all my relatives drinking and me drinking orange juice meant I had to confess to my mother I had given up drinking. She comments that I had lost weight and that was about that…
For me the crucial part was deciding to give up forever rather than a day/week/month etc. The finalty just seemed to make it easier, ‘drinking? Oh that thing I used to do. I gave it a fair go, and now it’s time to move on to other things…’. Good luck everyone else, I’m tempted to move this to the completed section!
