As my 1 year old’s personality takes shape, I find myself in awe of his person. Some would say that this happens much sooner for them, but I look back on the past year I can see that he went from helpless infant to the “energizer toddler” right before my eyes. In thinking of this I was slapped with a realization of how fast it goes. I want to not feel what I felt as I reveiwed the magnitude and speed at which that he became a 1 year old. I want to allow God to mold me into the man/father I need to be, so that he will be handled BY God, through me. And when he realizes that his earthly father was a man that allowed his true Father to mold him into a man. I can think of no greater legacy to leave, than the kind that has been left by each passing generation of Elders and will be left by my own long from now. I have seen that the example by a father stepping aside for God is the mark of a true man of God. May I learn to receive the Grace that allows this to develop in me as I allow God to mold my son into the type of man that only He can.
