Went for a good ride today. I let my daughter ride for 5 minutes since it will be her horse as soon as I am done. After that, I rode the horse for 20 minutes. We went through the field, up the road, past a field of horses, down around the pond, and around our circle drive a few times. She does not steer the best yet, but she is learning and acts like she wants to learn. A couple more weeks and I will call this done. Then my daughter will be riding Lady every day.
Oh, we also got money for a new Dr. Cooks bitless bridle for Lady. My Grandma sent us the money for Christmas :) Now I don’t have to share mine lol.

Had some turkeys to sell after work so I got home late and have to go in on another job at 9pm till morning. That kind of cut into my time today. It was almost dark when I got home. Still did a little though.
I cleaned her hooves, lunged her, worked on cues from the ground, and brushed her out. The rest of the time I just pet her and hung around with her like a dog lol.
Tomorrow we go on another ride.

Had a good ride today. For the first time, I was able to let my daughter on her back. She enjoyed it. Her pony is now too small for her and she has nothing to ride till I get Lady done.
After we led her around for a bit, I got on and played with her cues. We did this while on a lead line just in case. After a couple minutes, I removed the lead line and took her for a full ride. She is confused with turning but some of that is because she just doesn’t want to go a certain direction sometimes lol. She wants more food as usual. We overcame that issue after a little bit. I just backed her up any time she went against what I was saying. She backs very well lol.
Here is a picture from today. Please ignore my hair. I should have wore a hat but the wind was blowing and I did not want to deal with it. Can’t wait for my hair to be long again!
