I had them pierced at 13 and 16. They closed-up both times, I was too much of a tomboy to care. 15 years later, my best friend gave all her bride’s maids matching earrings. The wedding was only 6 weeks away. I went to a jewler to have them converted to clip-on and he laughed at me for being a baby and said I would have time to heal and change earrings. The day of the wedding, I have my brother “the piercing junkie” change them for me. I still don’t care for pierced ears. Anything larger than a tack is strange to have dangling from my head. (I’ve had other piercings but for some reason it was different.)

Had a great visit with Wai in Hong Kong. At the base is a Buddhist Monastery which offered vegetarian meals. Yummy.
