I love myself, but... 4 months ago

I love who I am inside, but I don’t feel healthy, vibrant or energetic on the outside, all of the things that are the person I really am. I am going to start getting out and exercising. Today I am going to start walking.

Ride my Horse everyday for 30 days (read all 2 entries…)
Day 8 and going strong... exhausted, but strong. 4 months ago

I have realized that 30 straight days of training with no break is not good for Riley, in fact, he actually does better when he has had a day off to relax and absorb what we have been working on, plus we have had a couple days where there have been heat advisories. He continues to improve and has a great attitude. For anyone who doesn’t know, riding is actually a lot of work, both physical and mental, and it is not a case of just sitting up there on top of a horse while they run around. If you don’t believe me, go take a couple of lessons for riding English and when you spend an hour trotting without your stirrups, you’ll get the picture. Anyway, I have come to realize that training is actually even more work than riding, but the work is rewarding whether he shows just a small improvement or shows a great big leap of understanding. I won’t let the difficulty of the work deter me nor will I allow that day or two off to turn into a month or two off! I am determined to see this thru!!
