I’ve been working in education for a while now. I enjoy education and am fairly sure that it will end up being the field I work in for the majority of my life, but despite (or perhaps, because of) that, I want to try working in an entirely different field just once.

This is a pipe dream, for sure. I passed 2-kyuu of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test purely by chance; 1-kyuu is so far beyond my abilities that I’m sure my interest will wane before my language improves to that degree. Nevertheless, I will try my hardest until I reach that breaking point.
I’ve always loved writing, but I’ve never been able to actually finish anything I start. I’m not talking about Great American Novels or anything of that sort (I am more than aware of the fact that great, epic works of literature are far beyond my abilities), but I even have a hard time finishing short stories. Or e-mails. Or text messages. Or thoughts. What was I saying again? Oh yeah, writing something of substance. I’d love to finish SOMETHING worthwhile, just once in my life. I don’t think I’m a very talented writer, but it would still mean something to me nevertheless.
