We used to do this as kids in high school; I don’t really see the point in doing that now…
I’d have to say the best thing about doing it was hopping in the shower with one of the girls afterwards. So I tried to skinny dip all the time back then. lol.
JR, the rail system in Japan is probably going to be your method of transportation. It runs from the southern island all the way up to the northern island. Every sign along the JR lines are in English; that being said, you being dropped off with an English sign doesnt mean that they speak English. =)
I’ve spoken to JR personnel in bigger cities of Hokkaido(northern island), i.e. Obihiro and Sapporo, and no one spoke English there. In Tokyo, of course. But I wouldn’t bank on English-speaking Japanese people in every city.
