How I did it: I went with some friends and found an instructor named Alfredo at the hostel "Casa de Oro" in San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua.It cost us $20 for a one hour lesson which turned into a 3 hour lesson including transportation to the beach about 40 mins away. I was a little intimidated to climb to the top of this mountain at Machu Picchu. I had read that the “physically fit” could it in 1.5 hours, and that others may take 3 hours.
This scared me. Whoever wrote it was lying. I am “avergage fit” and made it in just under an hour. It was a GREAT view from the top and I’m so glad I did it!!! MANY steps but worth it!
