I have a ‘67 bug and a ‘65 ghia. If you’re serious about buying one, go here: http://www.thesamba.com/vw/ that’s where I found my bug. Sure they require a little more care than new cars, but they’re fun and I get great gas mileage (30-35 mpg, depending on driving). Plus, they’re pretty cheap and the aftermarket is huge. Parts can be found pretty easily. One of my favorite sites for parts is http://www.aircooled.net/ and there is a lot of expert advice out there to get you started doing your own work at http://www.shoptalkforums.com/ If you’re serious about getting a real bug, check out shoptalk and thesamba.. you’ll be hooked. Good luck!

The following website has been very helpful for me (as a complete beginner & english speaker) to learn the alphabet and pronunciation of the letters. In addition to this, I’m using a book that my girlfriend (a native gujarati speaker) bought me that has been very helpful in reading and writing. All the information can be found below.
Now that I’ve learned the alphabet, I’m trying to find the best way to increase my vocabulary as well as learn the rules of grammar. I was hoping to find a very good book / audio combination or, even better, a well-designed computer program. I have used rosetta stone programs, however they do not have a gujarati version. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know. Thanks.
