I started college, because my best friend in the WHOLE world simply took put my comment of “wanting to go to college someday” into action. At the time, I was 20 with a one year old daughter and 4 months from giving birth to my 2nd daughter. Working at JC Penny’s was not going to give my babies the world. So, I met my friend at the school, she led me around to all the offices to gather the paperwork needed, and thus began my journey to being a college graduate. After 2 years of part-time schooling for business management in MT, and a failed relationship w/ my kids father, I packed up my kids and moved to FL to attend a college that had an Interior Design program. That was in 2004. Finally, after 3 long grueling years of hardship, diconnected utilities one after the next, and raising my children 2,300 miles away from all family and friends, I received my BFA in Int. Design in January ‘08. I am now part of the 10% of single parents who graduate college in the US. If I can do it, you can do it :) If you have any questions on what you need to do, ask!

Scattered energy
restless thoughts
So much to do
So much I want
Everything to say
But no one to hear
Yelling through smoke
My voice is not clear
If ever oh ever
A wish I could make
I’d pray for a day
the world would relate
Pass no judgement on others
Have none passed on you
Talk with your neighbor
Try on someone’s shoe
And after you’ve worn them around for a while
Put your own shoes back on
Leave with a smile
And now that you’ve walked
In a different shoe
We’d all see why people do what they do
And respect each other as a human race
And lend a hand
Not turn away
You and I are not the same
Who we are is not to blame
Emotions set the heart afire
Anger, joy, despair, desire
Gotta concentrate on the good
Learn from the bad
Cause Life is the experience
we’ve never had
