I’m a self-taught drummer and I can truly say that learning to play drums is definitely worth it!!

I always dreamed of playing drums when I was a child. I nearly drove my folks crazy banging on pots and pans and boxes – anything I could find. I even played in a “junkyard band” as a kid in Washington, DC. (Think Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids.)

It wasn’t until college that I played my first drum “kit”. It took me about a week to get my coordination down – but that’s after more than 10 years of playing “air drums” while watching and listening to Phil Collins on television and radio.

There’s nothing like learning to make the drums “sing”. Then, to finally get to play in a band was my dream come true.

I’ve done my sites in ASP, but now I want to re-do them in PHP. WHY? Because PHP/MySQL is FREE! I’ve had this PHP/MySQL book forever, but I keep falling asleep after a couple of pages. I decided to try the hands-on approach and just tweak some source code from PlanetSourceCode.com until I get the hang of writing my own. That’s how I learned ASP.
