I am going to have to do some things very differently. I tend to be a “do it yourselfer” and rarely ask for help from anyone. I’m always willing to help others but seldom ask for assistance for myself. In order to go to the next level with my business I need to take some different actions. This is a time when I need the support of someone who has experienced much of what I have to deal with now. It’d be great just to bounce ideas of someone who is willing to foster my dream.

however I eventually stopped hanging out and having conversations just for the sake of conversation. I miss those times. I’m going to become more aware of opportunities to connect with people on this level, unrelated to work or some other specific task/event.

to work on this goal everyday. I am trying to get a new business up and running. It’s scary in many ways but I know this is something I have to do. This is my opportunity to create the kind of work environment I’ve always dreamed of having. The trade-off is the fact that everything is riding on me to pull this together—there is no safety net, except my faith and willingness to work to make this happen.

New England I lived in a small town in western Massachusetts that was a couple of hours’ drive, in any direction, from a lot of fun places. I really learned to value a road trip during my time there. I’ve always loved to travel but while I was there I gained a whole new appreciation for just hopping the car and heading out for an adventure.

stock up on postcards and start sending notes to old friends. All of them will be quite surprised to hear from me because I really haven’t kept in touch over the years.
