Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

Finding Ways

I just joined the 43things team on Kiva as I was making my second loan. I’m not sure how many 43T members are on there lending regularly, but it seemed like one more good way to stay in touch.

I’m wondering about the 43T facebook group – could anyone give me details on joining?

Love you all ;)

Making it Through

I’ve been without internet at home since my last entry because I finally moved into my condo! It was hard not to be able to check-in here but I had so much going on that the days flew by. The chaos of life is finally starting to wind down. At least a little bit. I still have some stuff to take care of at the old apartment but I think I can manage. It will take a while to get unpacked at the condo but I’m doing my best and not pressuring myself to get it all done immediately. The hardest thing left to tackle this month is finishing the dance studio. We are behind schedule but I think in the end it’ll all work out alright. I’m really looking forward to taking the month of August to unwind. My sis and I are going to NY in two weeks to take some ballet classes and it’ll be a much needed break.

I’m happy to see the robots have given us until August 15th. It’s not much more than we expected but at least it is something.

Where has the time gone?

Oh my goodness – I can’t believe how absent I have been. The last few weeks have been insane, here’s a quick run down:
-I closed on my condo and moved in sooner than expected
-My parents sold their house and moved out. I’ve spent a lot of time helping them clean, pack, and mourn the loss of the home we all enjoyed for 30 years.
-We have been up to our chin in remodeling our new dance studio. What a hectic experience this has been. I’m learning a lot!

Overall it has been a crazy time and it makes me sad that I haven’t been here daily with all of you who mean so much to me as we approach the end of our 43T journey. I will certainly be making more of an effort to connect from here on. This place means the world to me :)
