I’m a huge superhero movie fan but this one wasn’t my favorite. Good enough to enjoy, but definitely not the best superhero flick out there.

Someone thinks she’s sneaky

• Happy Birthday to me!
• Made bacon and eggs for breakfast
• Stopped at REI to pick up a few things for my trip. Ended up treating myself to an REI membership. I think it is the perfect birthday gift to myself.
• Stopped at the gym for some rock climbing and was greeted with warm birthday wishes.
• Lunch with my sister on the patio
• So many wonderful birthday wishes from my 43T friends
• Out for a bit after work with my close friends
• Altogether an absolutely wonderful and low key birthday

• Laundry is done in preparation for trip packing
• Spent time outside in the beautiful weather
• Free birthday meal from Noodles & Co.
• It was still a bit light outside when I left the dance studio just before 8pm. Summer is on its way!
• Stayed up late to get the majority of my packing done. I think I’ll be ready to leave on Sunday without rushing.

It is not often that I am so quickly moved by something that I decide to donate money on the spot, but after reading this family’s story I couldn’t help but pull out my credit card immediately. I’m sharing the link here in case anyone else is as moved by the story as I am.

The money being raised is for a 92 year old veteran who is fighting to stay in the home he built years ago. He had previously given his daughter power of attorney in case of medical issues, however she went behind his back and gifted herself the deed to his home in 2004. This went unnoticed by the family until 2010 and at that point the statue of limitations had passed and it was too late to do anything in court, despite the fact that what his daughter did is illegal. His daughter is now trying to evict him from the home.

His granddaughter has set up the page below to raise money to buy back his house before he gets evicted on June 12th. They are getting close to their goal! And even if they don’t make it in time he will have enough money to buy a new home.

• Got started on packing for my trip. It seems like we’ve been planning for so long that I can’t really believe we’re leaving in a few days.
• A gorgeous and sunny day
• Driving with the windows down and the music turned up
• Finished up a few really important works tasks before my trip. There are a few more to go, but at least I’m keeping up.

• I had to have a talk with the parents of one of my dancers about some attitude problems, and it went much better than I was expecting
• I leave on my road trip in less than a week. Better start packing!
