How I did it: I had just lost a job and was depressed and stir crazy. I decided to grab a copy of Jack Kerouac's On The Road (cliche, I know) and head out with no destination. I filled my SUV with every possible item I could need from camping supplies to dinner dresses, threw my dog in the car and headed out. I just kept driving west until I could go no further. After stops in many great western states I spent a week in L.A. I came home refreshed… Read how I did it…
My husband lived in Amsterdam for 8 years and speaks Dutch fairly fluently. There is some crossover with English so it might not be terribly difficult. If you can’t go there to learn why not try those Rosetta Stone DVDs? I hear they are good.
