I watched the film again having just finished the book. It’s very different to the book, bearing little to no resemblance to it bar character names and a plot revolving around diamonds and Las Vegas. But apart from that, the plot is entirely different. It’s still an enjoyable film, but … the book was better!
I’m not crossing this off my list though, because I’d seen the film before. I’m going to read Trainspotting and watch the film for this goal.

Not a classic in the sense of the word, but a film that I’ve heard about for years, and has influenced so many films and TV shows that followed it. They’re the kind of films I want to watch for this goal.
As for the film itself, it was alright, nothing too great, but I can see where a lot of successors got their ideas from.

There are so many good open source projects out there that it’s impossible to decide. Songbird inspired this goal, but I don’t think there’s much I could do for that. There are loads of other ones that I use regularly, like Ubuntu and pretty much every piece of software that comes with it. I’m sure I’ll find one to help out with.
