I started out yesterday afternoon, as I said before I’d been thinking about it, but it’s such a huge project it was just easier to ignore it than get started. But the weather was so pretty yesterday, I went out side to sweep the porch & walk, and somehow I just got started…
-Swept porch & removed: 2 folding chairs, metal bed head & footboards, cat stuff, blew off porch with blower
-started digging in the flower beds and pulled out lots of trash and vines, blew pine needles out of the way
- cut a dead bush down almost to the ground – will have to get hubby to help with that one when he gets back in town! Also cut dead bits off 2 other bushes
-pulled vines off porch supports and wall
-pulled small part of ivy off wall
-removed wagon-shaped planter stand from landscaping
-pulled giant fallen tree branch to the gully in back yard
-raked yard and moved junk to gully

I’ve been thinking about this for a while, and talked it over with my husband some too. I hate our house. HATE it. I think it’s ugly and I’m not too crazy about the location either. I live right inside a speed trap surrounded mostly by grandmas/grandpas and Mexis. The house is multi-colored brownish brick with dark brown trim. Yuck. I love brown, but the only color brick I like nice old-fashioned red, preferably dark red. I’ve been wanting to have it painted for years (we’re coming upon my 4th year here, hubby owned the house already when we got together) but having it done isn’t really in our budget, especially with me not working. But then it occurred to me, I can totally paint it! But, there’s SO much to do before I get to the painting.
I’m hoping that by using the website I can keep myself going until I’m done!
Pic is closest to “before” as I have. (I’d already gotten started when it occurred to me to take photos!)
So I’ve come to the conclusion that cigarettes may be the root of all evil in my life and I’m ready to test the theory. So far, I’m not doing so well. My first attempt got me a full day until 9:45 or so. I broke down and bought 1 pack. I’m almost through with it now, but I plan to start again tomorrow.
