And I kind of forgot about this goal, so I don’t think I’ve gotten much better! Oh well, new year, new attempt!

How I did it: I just took it out of my wallet and didn't use it. I got a direct debit card also for the situations where I can only pay credit or cash and I don't have any cash, and for buying anything online. I hope never to have one again! Read how I did it…
How I did it: I had a bit of help along the way... my dad, bless him, pays my rent while I'm finishing my masters. He also instilled a drive to save since a young age. I try to say most of my pay checks from my part time job Read how I did it…
How I did it: I just did it, I finished the dress I created this goal for. Now I have to finish two other dresses, and I'm going to start making another two soon. Lol, I love it. Read how I did it…

It looks like I might not even be able to save $500 this month, which is disappointing as I thought I’d be able to save 20,000 by the end of the year and then start working towards 25,000 by July and 30,000 by the end of 2012.
It’s an expensive time of year. I spent $60 on shipping to send presents my family, next year I’ll try to get them something light!
Still I’m glad I’m able to save something in tough times (and not so tough times for people like my manager, who makes all this money but spends EVERYTHING)
My BF thinks I’m nuts for saving, he says buying a house is years off so I shouldn’t worry about it (yes buying a house is years off, but hello? buying a house takes years of saving and planning!) I get paid monthly and it always seems like there’s not as much as I thought there would be at the end of the month… maybe i need to work out some sort of week spendings plan…hmmm
And I’m managing to save at a rate of about $1000 a month. Christmas is coming though, always an expensive time of year and I may not be able o save as much next month… so I estimate that’ll have $20,000 in my savings account by the end of the year, then next goal $25,000, then $30,000! It’s interesting, I’ve started to find saving quite invigorating, after achieving $10,000, then $15,000 and $20,000. I should probably do something with it though… put it in a term deposit or something, I don’t want to invest it just yet, as this will be my house deposit, but it’s not really working for me sitting there in a savings account.
