Taking classes at Old Town was the best thing I ever did! I met my band mates (my friends for life) and have grown so much as a person from the experiences I got there. I met so many great people who were just starting out on guitar like me and I never felt out of place there. I know it’s hard to take that first step (and scary) but it’s such a supportive, laid back environment. You will never feel out of place there!

All 4 people in my band (including me) have 9-5 jobs. I guess that is the catch 22 of being older and being in a band vs. being in a college band. It’s easier when you don’t have a job, house, husband, ect. to tie you to your life. We plan on starting small, doing a weekend tour to Milwaukee; stuff like that!
I was diagnosed with Trigeminal Neuralgia about 3 1/2 years ago. I had Gamma Knife Radiation surgery about 2 1/2 years ago to relieve the constant pain that the TN caused in my face. It was unsuccessful and now half of my face is numb – a side effect from the surgery. I am on several anti-seizure medications to help control the pain including Trileptal, Neurontin and Lyrica. My goal is to find a way (hopefully non-surgical) to get off these meds for good and live life pain free.
