I have listened to the radio version of A Prairie Home Companion for as long as can remember! When we moved to the mid-west, it was like I had joined a little secret club… I actually GOT all the jokes about the mid-west. It really is like living on the 7th rim of Hell in the Summer, and well, frankly the winter too. Its horridly hot, and dreadfully cold… but it really does have all the things one reads about, or hears on PHC!! Its a very enchanting place… the fireflies are magical, and the cicadas are symphony of noise… Such a wonderfully, enchanting place, the mid-west! Garrison Keillor makes the mid-west sound soo romantic—even in the -40 winters!!!
Seeing the show live was wonderful! A dream come true really!! I can’t believe how awesome of a story teller Garrison Keillor is… he gave us the news from Lake Wobegone without any notes… no paper… nothing! Just from memory! It was fantastic! I have always loved being read to, and Garrison totally has the gift of story telling!
Our friends that we went with actually ran into Garrison after the show, and were able to visit with him for quite some time… they said he really IS that nice!

I did this! It was, ahh, entertaining?? My son was in 7th heaven… cause it had all sorts of weird/gross stuff. A 7year olds delight! It was fun!
This goal was originally to JUST read 100 books. But, as I have gone around the house figuring up all the books that I have read (that I can remember) since making that goal several years ago… I have MORE than accomplished this goal.
So, now I have modified it to be 100 books in 2006. I have not kept track of what I have read this year, so as near as I can tell, I have only read 14 books. I better get cracking!!
