Teaching is off the list. Permanently. I find myself getting up at 4:30 a.m. to grade things and write lesson plans and staying up late to do the same. All for half my previous salary. I’m actively applying for other jobs and have much more appreciation for cubicle life.

How I did it: I didn't hear back from most jobs to which I applied, and I heard there were lots of applicants for every position. I began to get discouraged, really down, but would apply for openings when I heard about them. 99 percent of them didn't work out, but I kept telling myself I only needed one company to hire me. How I did it: Just kept going. There's no choice. Gotta stay positive. Don't let yourself get too down. Go out and be around other people, even if it's just at a store. Stay focused on a goal--make up something that you have to do. I chose writing, luckily it was National Novel Writing Month. That made a huge difference.
