How I did it: Well, eventually, I just made friends with some good ol boys, went out for an afternoon by the lake, and took turns shooting a soda can with a 22 rifle and maybe a 24? I'm not really sure what that second one was. I’ve taken stand up classes, written a ton, and been onstage as a comedian 4 times now (since March), and it’s time for me to really push myself. I heard once that when you reach 500 shows, that means you are really a stand up. You’ve reached that level of strength in your voice and material. That’s a big chunk to take all at one time of course, but I will start with 300 by the end of next year (also a huge chunk, I know.) That means I have to go onstage 4 or 5 times a week, which makes me a little nervous, but you’ve got to aim high, right? Like that old saying: shoot for the moon, even if you miss, you’ll end up with some cool stories to tell your grandkids.
