I actually completed this quite some time ago, to be honest.
The day I felt I had truly mastered the art of driving a stick was when my brother was out of town and asked if I could take his car for a joy ride. He said yes and I only managed to stall it when I was backing out of parking spots!

How I did it: My dad actually talked me into letting him buy it. He said I needed to save my money so that I could save for my camera that will be of great use to me. He actually picked up an extra couple weeks worth of shifts at work so he could just have the extra money to spend on it after one of his pay checks. How I did it: I actually did it with a friend I hadn't seen in 7 years! We had a blast, especially because it was an innocent illegal act. Haha. We waited until it was dark outside, and went over to this lake in her town. I suggest doing it when it's dark out so it's not awkward unless you're with your special friend. Hahah!
