6 years ago, I cheated on my husband. Amist the enormous and overwelming mixture of emotions about breaking up and dealing with family reactions, I never really dealt with what I had done and my relationship with him, and its eventual breakdown. last year, 5 years after the event, I started counselling and managed to deal with the guilt and remorse i felt for what happened. As a result i wrote and sent a letter of aplogy to him. I didn’t do it to get a response from him. I did it to say sorry for what happened. I don’t even know if he recieved the letter, but knowing that I have dealt with my feelings and that I have made an effort to let him know means that I am now at peace with myself. And I genuinely hope he is leading a happy and healthy life.

I had counselling last year for about 6 months. Really discovered issues that I didn’t even realise were there. Managed to solve one particular issue, which was the trigger to getting counselling int he first place. Going back again this month. Having the courage to go in the first place was the best thing I have ever done for myself.
Today is the day that I walked with my head held high and went through the front door of my bank, to pay in all the cash I have saved from the money I have made from my second job….... and paid off my entire overdraft!!!!!!!!! What an amazing feeling!
Now just my last and biggest debt to go …. ‘the’ loan!
