I can’t believe it, but with only 3 race weekends, I did it. I had given up on even going to collegiate nationals at all before I graduated, but just a week before, I changed my plans. Let’s see how all this goes!

Today was the big day. The solidarity ride went off without a hitch, up the coast to Carlsbad and back. The crowd was a little smaller than hoped, but we got a lot of people asking about us on the coast. This week has been crazy, but has been a blast. I really want to join the cross-country ride next year.
While it wasn’t flawless, it was almost. Despite a few snafus with a mix-up in release forms, everything went as planned: jobs were executed seamlessly, officials were compensated, and prize money distributed. Not only that, but it was the biggest Boulevard in UCSD with 721 riders. AND I ended up racing that day, too! (Not the best result, but what can you expect on 90 minutes of sleep?) I finished, and I still managed to beat out a few people at the very least.
I feel accomplished.
