get a job (read all 3 entries…)
I can't believe I gave up 19 months ago

I got the job I always wanted. I guess I wasn’t even trying too hard. Lucky me.

It's all good 19 months ago

I got a job, made friends and started leading an active and engaged life. It’s still a work in progess, but there has definately been a lot of progress.

learn to ride a motorcycle
Yes! 19 months ago

I thought it would be kind of a cool thing to learn, but it’s way better than that. I learned to ride this winter, and I can’t stay off my bike. I love it! It’s become a passion.

finish baking school (read all 2 entries…)
No Longer Necessary 19 months ago

Instead I got a job I love working as a baker in a fantastic bakery. It’s everything I hoped for. I’ve been baking there for about a year and a half now and I couldn’t be happier with it.

Read "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy"
At least don't bother with the whole series 3 years ago

I love the BBC show and enjoyed the first couple of books, but eventually the story gets so convoluted it’s just no longer interesting. Maybe the first three books are worth your time.

finish baking school (read all 2 entries…)
One way or another I WILL do this 3 years ago

I dropped out of baking school half way through when my son started having some major problems in school. I just couldn’t balance work and school and family. I homeschooled him for awhile and he seems to be doing well now. But I really want to get on with having a career!

go to spain
My Reward 3 years ago

When I finally get my financial situation straightened out, I want to save money to take my family to Spain. My husband and I have been talking about going since before we were married. The years are slipping away…

School First 3 years ago

I’ve decided to go back to school to finish my training as a baker instead. I love baking and have worked as a baker in the past, so I probably don’t necessarily need to finish the progam. But I’ll just feel so much better about myself knowing that I completed it. It may open up a few more options for me in the future if I have professional certification too.

go to a pottery class
Very Fun 3 years ago

It takes a few classes before you can make stuff you would want to show off, but it’s definately worth it! I may never be a master potter, but it is a fun, peaceful, relaxing, and very satisfying way to spend time. Try it!

Baby Steps 3 years ago

I managed to get out and get things done the last three days in a row. I doesn’t sound like much, but maybe I’m on a roll.

live within my means (read all 2 entries…)
This is Almost Hopeless 3 years ago

This wont happen untill I sell my house. It’s just more than I can afford to keep up with the mortgage, maintainance, taxes, etc. I finally sat down and figured out all the financials and there’s no way around it. I can only aford to keep the house for about a year and a half. Luckily I expect to make a profit when I sell, so it’s not all bad.

learn to make stained glass (read all 2 entries…)
Class Cancelled 3 years ago

I’m bummed that not enough people signed up to take the class so it was cancelled. I still want to do this, but now I’m not sure when it will be possible. I did buy a begining stained glass book, but I’m hesitent to invest in all the supplies without having at least tried it first.

open a cafe (read all 2 entries…)
This wont happen soon 3 years ago

I don’t have the money to seriously consider this yet, but I’m working in the right direction. I’ve enrolled in school starting Spring Quarter to finish up my training as a baker. In one or two years we’ll sell the house and buy something much smaller and cheeper. I plan to use the surplus from the sale to help me open my business.

read a book (read all 2 entries…)
I tried 3 years ago

I started reading a book. I really liked it too, but I only read the first three chapters and that was more than three weeks ago. :(

clean the garage (read all 2 entries…)
Part Way 3 years ago

We rented a truck and hauled off tons of stuff to the dump. There is room to park both the cars and it looks really nice if you don’t look to close. Not finished yet though. Still lots of stuff to go through and tools and stuff to organize. But progress has been made!

Proud to say it looks swell 3 years ago

Right down to organizing my files and sorting out clothing to donate. It’s tidy and organized and I managed to get rid of a whole lot of crap I didn’t need. Hurray!

It's icky 3 years ago

Nasty. Lots of garbage that needs to go to the dump. Yuck!

get out of the house (read all 3 entries…)
Literally 3 years ago

I moved to a new town a year ago. I don’t have a job and I don’t know anyone. I don’t have any reason to go anywhere. I have somehow reached a very sad and pathetic place. I need to start living again!

paint my kitchen
Finish 3 years ago

I started painting it late last summer and only got about a quarter of the way done before drifting off the start other projects to fill my endless list of 1/2 finished home improvements.

plant a tree
Bigger Than it Sounds 3 years ago

What I really mean is I want to landscape the south side of my driveway (as a starter landscaping project). This will require: clearing out the blackberries and weeds, diverting the runoff of a seasonal spring into a dry creekbed, making a terraced walkway up a small slope and planting the bare ground around it, planting 2-3 small flowing trees, planting white hydraingias on the bare ground down by the main road. Step by step I can make it happen. I already have most of the black berries cleared!
