Er, slowly but surely, that’s the way? I’m certainly in more regular contact with old friends now, even if ‘more regular’ actually means bimonthly rather than biannually. But I’m definitely getting there. The sooner we move back to England, the sooner I’ll be closer to most of them and actually seeing them becomes much more possible!

Ok so I watched a few tutorials on YouTube (this one, for example http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w74e5aXrFs4) and decided that I’d just go for it one night when I had a spare half an hour (very rare for me) when getting ready to go out. Big mistake.
Mistake no. 1: not leaving enough time thus having to rush towards the end
Mistake no. 2: not bringing a laptop through to the bedroom with me so I could rewatch the YouTube tutorials once through again before starting
Mistake no. 3: not having enough strong hair clips, or just having hair clips that didn’t work to hold my hair away
Mistake no. 4: forgetting to start at the bottom and work up, thus just making a mess generally
Mistake no. 5: not being able to do one side of curls as tightly as the other
Mistake no. 6: getting impatient with how much hair I have
Mistake no. 7: giving up and trying to undo the mess I’d made by brushing out the curls and making an even bigger mess!
Solution: pinning my entire head of hair up with a chopstick in an effort to cover up the whole endeavour.
Hmm. Practice makes perfect! Right?? ;)
Well, it’s not random to bake for your colleagues, but at least I did one thing nice last week.. Will have a think how I can carry out more acts of kindness. Oh the donating all those clothes to charity, that was good too so I’m counting that one :) Oh and writing nice recommendations for colleagues on LinkedIn.
