I was raised with soda and kool-aid. I don’t know why, those were just the main drinks in the house hold. The adults got soda, and the kids got kool-aid. That made soda seem like this high and mighty creation that you had to do something really awesome to get. By about age 10, soda had steadily worked itself into my life and I could/would drink half a box of canned soda a day. I imagine that would be about 8 cans a day.
Now, I never liked the taste or texture or substance that is soda. I think coca cola is the most god-aweful thing ever conjured up by humans that was meant for consumption. I also hate the carbination that comes along with soda, and the caffeine and sugar in it made me a real nervous and shaky kid.
When I was 15, I finally realized that I didn’t have to drink it. I don’t know what made me think that I HAD to drink it before, but realizin that I didn’t was the greatest discovery I’ve ever made in my life. I quit that day. I still drank some fruit drinks like fruitopia, but that only lasted a few months. They were still really gross.
The taste of man-made drinks is just gross to me. I say that as I do enojy 100% juices, though I RARELY drink them. Other then that, it’s been nothing but water for the last 4 years.
