Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

Clean my room and keep it clean for 30 days (read all 2 entries…)
So I forgot a piture, but I have a plan

My main problem, if that I have far too many clothes. I am a pack rat and so I think I still have a few things from when I was in elementary school (I’m now 25).
So what I am going to do is:

1. Make my bed
2. Take all the clothes from my closet, my dresser and the floor and put them all on the bed.
3. Get a ton of boxes and bags and start sorting everything.
-Everything I’ll keep I will immediately hang or fold and
put away
-Everything I am storing goes in a labeled box.
-Everything I am giving away will go into plastic bags.
I think I’ll send alot of stuff to the Goodwill and to
a wonderful program that helps women get business clothes
when re-enering the workforce after addiction or
-Everything I am throwing away goes in a garbage bag.
4. From there, move onto my desk and bookshelves which will be simple after the huge task of all my clothes.

I’ll try to remember to take a photo, so everyone can see the big change.

put all my books in a database
I've begun.

I have about 50 books in my database already and I plan on trying to add another 5 books or so every day. That way I should be finished my 1st book self my the end of July and can start on the second one in August.

I am hoping that this will make it easier for me to keep track of who I lend books to and help me get the ones that I love back.

I'm am giving myself a deadline to have the room cleaned

I will have until Sunday, July 22, 2007 to have my room cleaned. And the consequence that I am setting for my self if I fail, is that I will not let myself start the latest Harry Potter book until it is clean.
