I’m in my 3rd year subbing and I like it a lot. I really enjoy teaching and can’t wait to get certified. I start back up my Master’s with certification program in March, and I should be done either end of 2013 or early 2014.

How I did it: I got over shyness primarily by going to therapy to understand some of my issues. I also made a conscious choice and effort to focus more on others instead of myself. Lastly, I worked and continue to work on my self-esteem so that I don't feel so judged and self-conscious about myself. Read how I did it…
How I did it: I saw a recent photo of myself and got mad at how slumped over I looked. So I decided then and there to change it. Having good posture involves being aware of your body...you have to constantly monitor that you are holding yourself erect. But after a week I no longer felt I was 'making' myself stand or sit up straight, I just was. It felt natural and easy. But the initial week was so hard! Read how I did it…
How I did it: I figure out where all the people like me are hiding...they are hiding in plain sight doing the things I like to do! So I did it by going places that involve the things I am interested in doing. Also by making an effort to meet and get to know new people. This really challenged me to go outside my comfort zone because I am an introvert and thus naturally reticent. I am also somewhat shy, but this is helping me to get over that.Overall, I … Read how I did it…

It’s done! It’s official. I had the final hearing on my name change this past week. I had to give a little speech on why I wanted to change it, including the significance of each name. WTF it’s 2010! but anyway my husband feels fine about it. He indulges my eccentricities :)
